Forty years ago I had the good fortune to land an entry level job with one of the premier design firms in Philadelphia. During those first three years I worked with and learned from some of the best artists in their field. From perspective drawing to color harmony, to typography, to design just to name a few of the disciplines that helped change the direction of my career. I also attended several colleges to gain business, advertising, public relations and marketing knowledge.
At the mature age of 24, I convinced my beautiful wife to sell our first home so that I could buy a computer, which would be the core to starting a typesetting and design business. Back in 1974 none of us really knew how the computer would change the business landscape, but my gut instinct told me that the computer was part of the business future. So we started our business with a computer and the willingness to work hard. Our new business struggled, survived and prospered over the past 37 years.
Several years ago my wife and I decided it was time to sell our successful advertising agency (www.tcswat.com) so that we could follow a passion that we both have had for many years. We always talked about renovating our Bucks County fieldstone barn, circa 1850, into a fine art gallery in the heart of Doylestown where we have lived and engaged in business for the past 30 years.
As of January 1 the renovations to the barn are complete. We now represent over 35 nationally known artists, and we are looking forward to meeting and making new friends as we open our gallery to the Bucks County community.
We look forward to meeting you,
Rich and Julie Timmons
